Travel from your pick-up point in the comfort of Coach Holidays & Tours’ luxury coach to Port Stephens for a memorable morning on the water aboard the beautifully preserved Wangi Queen, a heritage-listed 1922 timber ferry.
This 2-hour historical morning tea cruise takes you through the scenic western reaches of Port Stephens Harbour. Your route includes Soldiers Point, Fame Cove, North Arm Cove, and the historic shores of Tahlee and Carrington—key sites in the region’s colonial and missionary past.
As you cruise, uncover the lesser-known stories of the region’s maritime and settlement history, shared through light commentary and informal storytelling. The setting is tranquil, the scenery pristine, and the vessel itself a charming window into the past.
Devonshire Morning tea is served onboard: freshly baked scones with whipped cream and strawberry jam, accompanied by a selection of fresh fruit and hot tea. Espresso coffee is also available for purchase from the onboard café.
The Wangi Queen offers two decks for optimal viewing of the Port Stephens–Great Lakes Marine Park, with ample space to move about and take in the sights. Constructed from hand-cut Watagans Forest timber and originally built by the Beattie Brothers at Empire Bay, the ferry is a fine example of early Australian shipbuilding and one of the last of her kind.
After disembarking, enjoy a hearty roast lunch at WESTS Nelson Bay, a popular local venue known for its welcoming atmosphere and satisfying classic meals.
Rejoin your luxury coach for a relaxed journey home, enriched by history, heritage, and a truly special waterway experience.
