Step inside the over 100-year-old Leichhardt Tramshed, home to the fascinating Sydney Bus Museum, where history comes to life through Australia’s largest collection of historic buses, transport memorabilia, and special exhibitions.
This unique museum tells the story of bus transportation in New South Wales, from the early 20th century through to the modern day. Visitors can explore a wide variety of restored buses and learn how public transport has shaped communities and connected people across generations.
Your visit includes a guided tour with one of the museum’s passionate volunteers, followed by free time to explore the displays at your own pace and browse the Bus Shop.
The highlight of the day is a 45-minute ride aboard an original vintage double-decker bus, with two scenic route options:
Huntleys Point, travelling via Victoria Road and the Gladesville Bridge
Milsons Point, crossing the ANZAC and Sydney Harbour Bridges
Both include historical commentary and a photo stop along the way.
