Begin your visit with a 75-minute guided house tour through this grand Victorian Italianate mansion, formerly the home of philanthropist and arts patron James Fairfax AC. Each room is beautifully appointed with fine antiques, original artworks, and elegant furnishings that reflect a life dedicated to beauty and culture.

After exploring the home’s formal and private spaces, enjoy a self-guided walk through the surrounding gardens. These pristine grounds are a delight in every season, featuring clipped hedges, an orchard, intricate knot garden, herbaceous borders, and a striking Modernist pool pavilion. Sculptures by acclaimed Australian artists are dotted throughout the park-like setting, offering moments of quiet discovery.

Lunch today will be a hearty seasonal roast, served at either Mittagong RSL or Moss Vale Services Club. Both venues offer a relaxed and welcoming setting for our midday meal.

In the afternoon, we continue to Ngununggula, the Southern Highlands Regional Gallery. Set within the old veterinary building, this thoughtfully designed space presents rotating exhibitions by emerging and established Australian artists. Take your time absorbing the works before rejoining the coach for the return journey home.
