Today we travel to the Central Coast, where we will collect our local guide for a journey filled with stunning scenery, local history, and coastal charm.

We begin by travelling north to Rafferty’s Beach Resort, enjoying beautiful views of Lake Macquarie across to the historic Wangi Power Station—now closed but heritage listed. From here, we cross back to the east coast and continue on to Catherine Hill Bay, a former miners’ village with its charming cottages, known for its blend of heritage character but now in the hands of coastal developers.

Heading south into Munmorah State Recreation Area, we pass through pockets of Littoral Rainforest to Frazer Beach, before continuing to Birdie Beach to take in the fresh sea air and views of Birdie Island to the right and the nudist beach to the left. Continuing along Elizabeth Bay Drive, you’ll have Lake Munmorah on one side and pristine beaches on the other, before stopping at Mackenzie Reserve for sweeping lake views.

We then enjoy a hearty lunch at a local bowling club in the twin towns of Budgewoi and Halekulani. After lunch, we head along the Scenic Drive towards Norah Head, making a stop at the Lakes Beach viewing platform to admire where you’ve been, with views stretching to the Norah Head Lighthouse—our next destination and one of the most iconic landmarks on the Central Coast.

Our day concludes with a scenic drive back via Toukley and Warnervale, travelling the picturesque ‘Lakes Way’.

This tour blends natural beauty, heritage charm, and a relaxed local atmosphere, making it a truly memorable day out on the Coast.
