Join your luxury coach for a unique day blending history, scenery, and indulgence as we journey into the heart of NSW’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley.
This morning, we travel along the historic Great North Road, a 240 km convict-built engineering triumph constructed between 1826 and 1836. Much of the original stonework remains visible today—hand-carved retaining walls, culverts, and rock-cut drains—offering an evocative glimpse into the lives and labour of the convicts who built it. Hear compelling stories that bring this remarkable road to life.
We pause for morning tea at the historic Wollombi Pub, famous for its rustic charm and the legendary Doctor Jurd’s Jungle Juice. Enjoy a cuppa and time to explore this picturesque village setting.
Our journey continues into Hunter Valley wine country, where vines were first planted in 1823. Your next stop is Taste of the Country, where you’ll enjoy a Hunter Belle cheese tasting paired with a glass of De Iuliis wine—a wonderful introduction to the region’s gourmet flavours. You’ll also have time to browse and purchase your favourite local products.
Lunch features a choice of fresh quiche & salad or a hearty Ploughman’s plate, prepared by the award-winning country café known for its “Food Like No Udder”
In the afternoon, indulge your sweet tooth at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company & Fudge Factory. Sample handcrafted chocolates, watch chocolate-making displays, and browse shelves filled with fudge, jams, sauces, and gourmet treats—perfect for gifts or a treat for yourself.
Return home after a day rich in flavour, heritage, and the timeless charm of the Hunter Valley.
