Day 1 – Sydney to Bathurst via Oberon

Depart Sydney and travel west via the scenic Bells Line of Road, one of the most picturesque routes through the Blue Mountains. Enjoy the changing landscapes as the journey winds through orchards, mountain vistas and charming country towns. A stop is made at the beautiful Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah, where guests can enjoy morning tea surrounded by cool-climate gardens and spectacular views across the World Heritage-listed landscape before continuing the journey. Travel through the central tablelands to the country town of Oberon for lunch. Following lunch, continue through the rolling countryside towards Bathurst, Australia’s oldest inland settlement. On arrival, experience the excitement of a coach “hot lap” around the world-famous Mount Panorama motor racing circuit, taking in the famous straights, corners and dramatic elevation changes that have made the track legendary among motorsport enthusiasts. Day 2 – Bathurst, Abercrombie House & Home

Following breakfast, discover the rich history and heritage of Bathurst on a guided tour of the city. Learn about its pioneering past, grand colonial architecture and important role in Australia’s development while taking in many of the city’s significant landmarks. Enjoy free time in the town centre to browse local shops, visit cafés or simply soak up the atmosphere of this historic regional city. During this time, guests may also visit the renowned Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of fossils, minerals and prehistoric treasures, including the internationally acclaimed Tyrannosaurus rex display. The Christmas in July celebrations continue at the magnificent Abercrombie House, one of Australia’s finest Victorian Tudor-style mansions. Enjoy a festive Christmas lunch in this grand historic setting before joining a guided tour of the house. Explore the beautifully preserved rooms, learn about the property’s fascinating history and admire the elegant architecture and furnishings that reflect a bygone era. Later in the afternoon, commence the journey home to Sydney via the Great Western Highway.
