From here, the coach travels along the Monaro Highway, passing through Cooma, the gateway to Australia’s High Country. The drive unfolds through alpine landscapes along the Snowy Mountains Highway, treating you to breathtaking views as the road gently winds its way toward the coast. Reaching the Princes Highway near Bega, the journey continues through lush farmland and rolling green hills, leading to the spectacular coastline. This final stretch to Eden is a scenic delight, offering a perfect introduction to the natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast. Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome at the Coachman’s Motel Eden, your comfortable accommodation for this coastal escape. Day 2: Central Tilba, Bermagui & Cobargo

This morning, journey north to the charming village of Central Tilba, a beautifully preserved heritage-listed gem, classified by the National Trust in 1974 and recently celebrated as one of Australia’s top 20 heritage sites. Strolling through this quaint town feels like stepping back in time, where skilled artisans, leather workers, wood turners, and even a traditional cobbler continue to practice their crafts. Your first stop is at Tilba Cheese, an award-winning, proudly Australian-owned business founded by Nic and Erica Dibden. Nestled in the lush Tilba Tilba Valley, their dairy farm is home to beautiful Jersey cows, producing a delectable range of premium dairy products. Savor the rich flavors of their renowned cheeses before wandering through Central Tilba’s delightful boutique stores, each brimming with character and charm. From here, travel to the stunning seaside village of Bermagui for a scenic drive through this picturesque fishing town. Take in the coastal views, feel the fresh ocean breeze, and soak in the relaxed atmosphere as you visit the famous Bermagui Blue Pool lookout. A short drive brings you to Cobargo Farm, a remarkable property that has flourished over the past 20 years, lovingly developed by Janet Doolin and her late father. This thriving farm is a feast for the senses, with vibrant fields of flowers, a flourishing citrus orchard, and a lively collection of pigs, sheep, cattle, and chickens. Here you will enjoy a lovingly made BBQ lunch.  On the way back to your accommodation, you’ll make a quick stop at the historic Bega Cheese Heritage Centre. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Eden: The Killer Whale Museum & a Cruise on Two-Fold Bay

This morning, you’ll enjoy an informative Eden town tour, which may take place either before or after your lunch cruise, depending on the tide times. You will also visit the unique Killer Whale Museum, where you’ll see the skeletal remains of the legendary “Old Tom,” a Killer Whale that once guided whalers to their prey. The museum offers a fascinating look into Eden’s whaling history, showcasing the industry’s impact on the area, with informative displays that bring the past to life. Afterward, head down to the Wharf at Eden to board your Eden Wildlife Cruise. As you cruise around Two-Fold Bay, keep your eyes peeled for the local marine life, including seals and dolphins, and possibly even a whale, depending on the season. A light lunch is provided on board as you relax and take in the stunning coastal views. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Merimbula Aquarium & explore the coast to Tathra & Tura Beach

Today promises a sightseeing extravaganza, offering a spectacular journey along the breathtaking Sapphire Coast. Begin the morning with a visit to the Merimbula Aquarium, where you’ll enjoy a fascinating tour showcasing an incredible array of marine life, followed by a delicious morning tea overlooking the ocean. From here, travel north along the coastline to the picturesque village of Tathra, a stunning seaside destination known for its historic wharf and resilience following the devastating 2018 fires. After taking in the beauty of Tathra, enjoy a provided lunch nearby before returning to Merimbula for a leisurely afternoon. Spend some free time exploring the town at your own pace, whether it’s strolling along the scenic boardwalk, browsing local shops, or simply relaxing by the water’s edge. If you’d like to go for a swim, remember to bring your bathers today. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Mallacoota

Your journey today takes you across the border into Victoria to Mallacoota, one of the south coast’s best-kept secrets, offering breathtaking views of sandy beaches, majestic headlands, and lush forests. Once severely affected by the 2020 fires, the town is now well on its way to recovery, and your visit plays a part in supporting this effort. The area was first settled in the 1830s when both Ben Boyd and the Imlay Brothers, who were whaling along the coast, established Mallacoota Inlet as their major station south of Twofold Bay. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxing morning tea, followed by a brief town tour. You’ll also visit the World War 2 Operations Bunker, one of the original headquarters of the RAAF Coastal Intelligence during WW2. A guided tour of the bunker will give you insight into its historical significance and the memorabilia it houses. Lunch will be served at the Mallacoota Pub, providing a chance to relax and enjoy the local atmosphere before continuing your exploration. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Journey Home via the Coast

Today, after an early breakfast, depart Eden and begin your journey home, reflecting on the stunning coastal landscapes and memorable experiences of the Sapphire Coast. Travel north along the scenic coastline, with a morning tea break in Narooma, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings near the Information Centre. This charming seaside town, known for its turquoise waters and Montague Island views, offers a perfect spot to pause before continuing the journey. Continue to Batemans Bay, where you will stop for lunch. Take in the beauty of the Clyde River before setting off once more. In the mid-afternoon, enjoy a comfort stop in Berry, a delightful historic town famous for its boutique shops, charming cafes, and delicious treats. It’s the perfect place for a quick refresh before beginning the final leg of your journey. As the coach heads home, we hope you take with you many cherished memories of your time in the natural paradise of the Sapphire Coast. Thank you for choosing this tour, and we look forward to welcoming you on another journey soon. (B,L)
