Day 1 – Arrive in Launceston
Our tour begins today in Launceston after flying in from your home port. Meet your fellow travellers tonight at the welcome dinner held at your accommodation – The Hotel Grand Chancellor (Ph: 03 6334 3434) or similar. (D)

Day 2 – Journey to Port Arthur
Begin your journey in Launceston with a scenic Cataract Gorge Cruise, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the rugged cliffs, tranquil waters, and historic landmarks along the Tamar River. Travel south to Campbell Town, a charming stop known for its convict history and Red Bridge, one of Australia’s oldest brick bridges. From here, journey through the scenic countryside toward Lake Leake, a peaceful spot perfect for a quick photo stop. Arrive in Swansea, where you’ll visit the historic Bark Mill Tavern and Bakery, showcasing the town’s milling heritage and offering a chance to sample local treats. Then continue to Port Arthur, your final destination, where you can prepare to explore Tasmania’s famous convict settlement and its stunning surroundings. Day 3 – Port Arthur
Begin your day with the Port Arthur Historic Site Experience, exploring the preserved ruins and buildings of this iconic convict settlement. Discover the history of Australia’s penal era through interactive exhibits, guided tours, and serene gardens. Midday, embark on the Isle of the Dead Cruise, a fascinating journey to the island cemetery where you’ll hear stories of the convicts, soldiers, and free settlers laid to rest there. In the evening, return to Port Arthur for the Ghost Tour, a spine-chilling adventure through the historic site by lantern light. Hear tales of mysterious occurrences and eerie encounters as you walk through the atmospheric ruins under the night sky, adding a thrilling end to your day. (B,L,D)

Day 4 – Richmond To Hobart
Start your day with a visit to the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour and get up close to Tasmania’s iconic wildlife in a unique, interactive setting. Next, travel to Eaglehawk Neck, pausing to admire the striking Tessellated Pavements, a natural rock formation resembling a tiled floor, perfect for a short walk and photos. Continue to the historic town of Richmond, where you’ll enjoy lunch and a brief exploration of its charming streets, heritage buildings, and the iconic Richmond Bridge, Australia’s oldest stone arch bridge. Conclude your day with a guided tour exploring Hobart’s city sights, taking in historic Salamanca Place, the picturesque Battery Point, and the bustling Constitution Dock, where you can take in the charm of Tasmania’s capital before checking in to the Ibis Styles Hobart (Ph: 03 6289 8500) or similar for the next 3 nights. Day 5 – Hobart & Huonville
Begin your journey with a drive to Mt Wellington, taking in breathtaking panoramic views of Hobart and its surrounds from the summit, offering a perfect start to your day. Head south to the stunning Huon Valley, known for its lush landscapes and apple orchards. Stop in Huonville to admire the riverside scenery before continuing to the Tahune AirWalk, a spectacular treetop walkway offering panoramic views of the Huon River and surrounding forests before driving back to Hobart. Day 6 – Hobart Free Day
Spend your free day in Hobart on a Saturday exploring the best the city has to offer. Start at the iconic Salamanca Markets, where you can browse a wide array of stalls featuring local produce, artisanal crafts, and unique Tasmanian goods. Enjoy a leisurely morning soaking in the lively atmosphere before heading to the waterfront for lunch at a cozy café or seafood restaurant. In the afternoon, consider board the MONA ROMA ferry and take a scenic ride along the Derwent River to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). Spend a few hours exploring this world-renowned museum, famous for its provocative and fascinating art exhibits. Return to Hobart in the early evening, with time to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at one of the city’s acclaimed restaurants. (B)

Day 7- New Norfolk, Queenstown and Strahan
Depart Hobart and travel to New Norfolk, where you can enjoy a leisurely morning tea and take in the charming riverside scenery. Continue through the picturesque Derwent Valley to visit The Wall in the Wilderness, an incredible hand-carved wooden mural depicting Tasmania’s rich history and natural beauty. Next, stop at Lake St Clare Lodge for a delicious lunch, soaking up the serene views of Australia’s deepest freshwater lake before continuing our journey west to Queenstown, nestled in the rugged landscapes of Tasmania’s west coast. Explore Queenstown on a town tour, uncovering its fascinating mining heritage and unique character, before continuing on to Strahan. On arrival, check in at Strahan Village (Ph: 1300 061 836), your home for the next 2 nights (B,L,D)

Day 8 – The Gordon River
After an early breakfast, embark on the Spirit of the Wild cruise along the majestic Gordon River, where you’ll experience pristine wilderness and learn about Tasmania’s natural and cultural history. Board the comfortable vessel for the Gordon River Cruise, a serene journey through Tasmania’s pristine wilderness. Glide across the still waters of Macquarie Harbour before entering the Gordon River, where ancient rainforest lines the shores. Stop at Heritage Landing to walk among the towering Huon pines and learn about the area’s natural and cultural history. Visit Sarah Island, a former penal settlement, and hear captivating stories of its harsh past and the convicts who lived there. After the cruise, visit Morrison’s Huon Pine Sawmill, where you can see skilled craftspeople working with the iconic Tasmanian timber. Enjoy some free time to explore Strahan’s quaint shops, galleries, and waterfront. In the evening, take in The Ship That Never Was, Australia’s longest-running play, telling the captivating story of a dramatic convict escape. (B,L,D)

Day 9 – Cradle Mountain
We start our day travelling to Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, stopping at Dove Lake for a walk or photo opportunity with the iconic Cradle Mountain backdrop. Enjoy lunch at the cozy Cradle Mountain Lodge, soaking in the tranquillity of the surrounding wilderness. In the afternoon, journey via Wynyard, with its stunning coastal scenery, before arriving in Smithton and the Tall Timbers Hotel (Ph: 03 6452 9000), your base for 2 nights and exploring the northwest region of Tasmania. Day 10 – Stanley
Begin your day in Smithton with a drive to Woolnorth, a historic property and working farm. Enjoy a guided tour of this remote and scenic location, learning about its history and wind farm operations, followed by a relaxing morning tea. Next, enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at Hursey Seafoods, known for its delicious Tasmanian specialties and stunning waterfront location. In the afternoon, visit The Nut at Stanley, an ancient volcanic formation. Take the chairlift to the summit for spectacular 360-degree views of the coastline and surrounding area. We finish our day with a tour of Highfield House, a beautifully preserved historic homestead that offers insights into Tasmania’s early European settlement and breathtaking views of Stanley and The Nut. Day 11 – Burnie and Devonport
Begin your day and head to Burnie, where you’ll visit the Burnie Regional Museum, which features a variety of exhibits detailing the region’s industrial history and heritage. Don’t miss the Federation Street Display, showcasing a collection of restored buildings and historical artifacts, providing a glimpse into early 20th-century life in the area. Next, travel to Sheffield, known for its murals that cover buildings throughout the town. Take a leisurely walk through the town to view these stunning artworks, which celebrate Tasmania’s history, nature, and culture. Finish your day in Devonport, a vibrant coastal city, where we will stay at the Novotel Devonport (Ph: 03 6420 5500) or similar. (B,L,D)

Day 12 – Devonport
Begin your day in Devonport with a hearty breakfast at the Novotel Devonport. From there, travel to Beaconsfield for a fascinating tour of the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre, were history and innovation come to life. Next, head to Seahorse World at Beauty Point for an engaging experience exploring the lives of seahorses and marine creatures. After crossing the Batman Bridge we enjoy a photo stop at Low Head Lighthouse before making our way back to Devonport. (B,L,D)

Day 13- To Launceston
Start your day enjoying the culinary delights of northern Tasmania, beginning with a visit to Anvers Chocolates, where you can browse and sample beautifully crafted Belgian-style chocolates made on site. We continue with a visit to Ashgrove Cheese for a tasting. Learn about the cheese-making process and sample a selection of delicious, locally produced cheeses that have made Ashgrove a favourite with food lovers. Continue to Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, renowned for its fresh raspberries, house-made jams, desserts and berry-inspired treats. We then travel to the charming riverside town of Deloraine, nestled on the banks of the Meander River, where you will have time to enjoy lunch (own expense) and explore its historic streets, galleries and local shops. We finally arrive in Launceston, where your tour concludes.  This is where you either extend your stay using your own arrangements or join a flight back to your port of origin. We will drop you at the airport or in the city centre at The Hotel Grand Chancellor. (B)
