Day 1- Journey to Bellingen

Depart from your designated location, on board your luxury Coach for your journey of just 554Ks to the Coffs coast. It is now an excellent dual highway all the way. For Sydney passengers, a morning break will normally be provided at Ourimbah, where you can purchase a coffee & a snack. Lunch will be provided at Nabiac. After an afternoon comfort stop at the Service Centre we arrive at The Lodge Bellingen (Ph:02 6655 1599), check in, unpack and relax before Happy Hour & Dinner in the Restaurant. (L,D)

Day 2 – Dorrigo & Ebor

Today explore the Dorrigo region. The countryside is a picture with rolling green hills, cattle properties & the famous Dorrigo potato fields as you travel west to the Dutton Trout Hatchery, located on the Serpentine River near Ebor, just 60km west of Dorrigo & 75km east of Armidale. It is one of two NSW Government facilities for breeding and rearing premier cold-water sport fish. Dutton produces Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout. Morning tea from the coach upon arrival before a 10-minute DVD & a guided tour of the facility. Its only 5 minutes to Ebor Falls. Subject to previous rainfall see the Guy Fawkes River plunging 100m over the waterfall at Ebor Falls. The lookout platform along the edge of the gorge provides spectacular views out into the rugged gorge country. Lunch will be provided in Dorrigo before with a visit the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre on the edge of the escarpment with amazing views right through to the coast. In addition to the Skywalk high above the forest there is a short walk available in the rainforest. For those that may like to do this short walk take appropriate walking shoes with you today. Day 3 – Grafton

This morning north to Coffs & then a later detour into the beautiful seaside village of Woolgoolga for morning tea on your journey to Grafton. The view from Woolgoolga headland along the coastline is stunning. Continue north along the new highway to the city of Grafton on the banks of the Clarence River, famous for its trees and graceful old buildings. Enjoy lunch in See Park with time for an interesting Grafton city tour with our local guide on board. Grafton’s broad avenues has many of its buildings significant National Trust sites. Take them in on the guided tour including  driving past the 1893 Grafton Gaol and 1884 Christ Church Cathedral. Return to your hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 4 – Bellingen & Urunga

Today we stay local. Bellingen on the banks of the tranquil Bellinger River. Dairy and other farms thrive in the rich soil surrounding the town. This morning you will be provided with an insight into the unique character of Bellingen and the surrounding valley as you explore the town and nearby countryside. Enjoy a break in Bellingen’s main street with time for some morning tea.  From Bellingen it is just 20-minutes to Urunga, where the Bellinger and Kalang rivers meet the sea. Lunch will be provided before a stop at the elevated Urunga Boardwalk. It is an easy walk, taking you over the estuary to the beach where the Bellinger and Kalang rivers meet the Pacific Ocean. Continue onto the “Sweetest Spot on the Mid-North Coast” Urunga’s Honey Place. You will be able to see into the mysterious world of the Honeybee with a glass display hive. Taste the many varieties of local honey. Some free time this afternoon. (B,L,D)

Day 5- Coffs Harbour

This morning travel just north of Coffs to the Bruxner Park Lookout. At an elevation of 310m, the Lookout provides excellent views over the Coffs Coast.  A viewing platform provides visitors with a spectacular new vantage point over the city of Coffs Harbour, the Solitary Islands Marine Park and about 100km of coastline along the Coffs Coast. The platform is elevated 15 metres above the ground at the iconic lookout point and consists of a 21-metre-long suspended walkway. This visit is subject to road conditions. Back into Coffs Harbour to the Jetty area to visit the award-winning Pet Porpoise Pool in Coffs Harbour. You will be surprised by the intelligence, power and mischievousness of the Dolphins and Seals. It is just 5 minutes on the coach across to the Jetty Beach House for lunch overlooking the ocean. If the weather is suitable, after lunch take time for an easy stroll along the breakwater to the Coffs Marina. (B,L,D)

Day 6 – Journey Home

This morning after breakfast depart & travel home, hopefully taking with you some wonderful memories of your time on the Coffs Coast. A morning tea break will be provided at the Service Centre mid-morning where you can purchase a coffee followed by lunch provided at a convenient location mid-way during the day before returning home.
